These are just some of the animation proposals that Portimão presents, in the areas of culture, sport, gastronomy and leisure, designed for those looking for more than sun and beach this summer.

Choice destination for a holiday or simply a break, in July and August Portimão presents a sea of ​​irresistible proposals.

As expected, grilled sardines will once again reign supreme in the summer of Portimão in another Festival full of attractions, which from 12th to 16th August will fill the air of the city's riverside with tempting aromas that no one can resist.

The entertainment will be constant, with crafts, sweets and humor, in a free entry program that includes daily musical shows on the main stage, next to the old fish market, and it should be noted that the participating restaurants will offer the essence of grilled sardines.

In the months of July and August, and after last summer's success, Música no Coreto is back with several musical performances and styles of music, in an entertainment program not to be missed.

Also on a musical level, the concerts with DAMA, scheduled for the night of July 25, and with Mariza, on the night of August 1, deserve a very special mention, shows that promise to fill Portimão Arena with color, energy, rhythm it's too much emotion.

MarisaBut emotion doesn't stop there, and in this same place, between August 15th and 30th, lovers of Lego® pieces are invited to visit the 1st Portimão Arena Fun Brick, a mega exhibition of buildings with Lego, the first of its kind to be held in the Algarve.

Between the 23rd of July and the 2nd of August, entertainment takes place in the heart of the city with the Street Food Festival Portimão, in what will be the first festival organized in the Algarve by the Association of Street Food Portugal.

Every day between 18:00 pm and 01:00 am, it will be possible to meet several Street Food brands that will fulfill the gastronomic fantasies of everyone present, in a relaxed atmosphere and always accompanied by a DJ on duty.

And on August 8th and 9th, everyone can dive on the City Water Slide, a giant slide that will transform Av. S. Lourenço da Barbosa (V6 Avenue) into a water park to glide in for pure fun with friends and family.

And because sadness doesn't pay debts, between July 31 and August 29, TEMPO – Municipal Theater of Portimão will be the stage for a fun magic show with Mário Daniel.

“Fora do Baralho” tells the story of a magician who is trying to create his next show, a play for the whole family, which mixes the art of illusion with the scenic and theatrical.

Appreciators of the best literature have not been forgotten either, and until August 23, they will be able to purchase works of all kinds at another edition of the Portimão Book Fair, taking place inside the old auction.

Since fitness is an essential condition to make the best of all these suggestions, until August 30 the Praia da Rocha Sports Area, next to Fortaleza Sta. Catarina, offers a vast program of free activities, from fitness to water aerobics , without forgetting zumba or yoga.

OUT OF THE DECKThere are many cultural facilities available to visitors, from the Portimão Museum, which features various exhibitions related to local heritage and history, to the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Municipal Library, where it is possible to enjoy literary classics or new editorial successes, passing by Alcalar Interpretation Center, which proposes a journey back in time to five thousand years ago, or the Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes, dedicated to this talented writer from Portimo who was President of the Republic.

There will also be no lack of activities for the younger ones, either at Quinta Pedagógica de Portimão, where rural daily life is reproduced in the heart of the city, or at the Casa da Juventude, with various playful proposals.
