Viviane will celebrate 10 years of her solo career with two concerts at the Municipal Auditorium in Olhão, at 21 pm, this Friday and Saturday, June 30th and 5th. The singer, who is «one of the voices of the Algarve», and who made herself known in the In quotes, presents a show that will be a trip since 2005, when he released his first solo album, until 2015, the year of the release of his latest work “Dia Novo”.
In an interview with the program «Impressions», from STREET FM/Sul Informação, Viviane made a retrospective of these ten years, with a very positive balance for the artist: «it has been a fantastic experience. I'm walking my way through this sound that I've chosen, which is a different path from the In quotes. I wanted to put these sounds of the song French, fado and tango. I wanted to join these styles and build something, because they are universes that interest me, move me and allow me to explore my voice in another way. This is the most interesting of these ten years: putting myself to the test by trying to do different things in a different Universe, cutting ties with the past».
There is an audience that didn't realize that I had changed and that identified myself as the "girl with braids" and the "Little Flower"
But cutting ties with the past was not easy. Viviane was the voice of the In quotes and there was an audience that took a long time to adapt to the “new” Viviane. «There is a part of the public of In quotes that was growing up and began to realize what I did again and followed me. There is an audience that did not realize that I had changed and that identified myself as the “girl with the pigtails” and the “Little Flower” and there is also a new audience that appears, which did not know the In quotes, and started to like the things I do. It's a process that takes a few years», explains the artist.
Despite not having been born in the Algarve (she was born in Nice, France), this was the region that welcomed her and Viviane admits that it can be considered as a reference. "I feel like one of the voices of the region and the country, without a doubt."
Currently, Viviane is «with one foot here and the other in Lisbon», since, according to the artist, «when you have a band or a project, although we like to stay in our comfort region, everything ends up happening in Lisbon. It is always necessary to spend some time there, make contacts in order to have greater visibility, and you will necessarily have to spend a lot of time in Lisbon».
For the concerts celebrating the 10th anniversary of his career, the choice of Olhão was «obvious». «It has an excellent auditorium, I have lived there for many years and I have an emotional connection with that city».
In both shows at the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão, Viviane will present surprises. The poet Fernando Cabrita, with whom Viviane has worked for several years, «will give voice to one of the poems he wrote» and there will also be something new for the singer, who will share the stage with the Choir of the Conservatory of Olhão.
«It will be a new experience. I've never sung live with a choir, but I've rehearsed with them, and they're very well rehearsed. The voices move me a lot and I like to feel that set of 50 voices. It's going to be chilling!”, says the singer.
Viviane does not reveal which theme was chosen to sing with the choir, but leaves clues: «it has a great importance for my career and it is a song that everyone knows and motivated the choir boys to sing. It was the right theme for that», he guarantees.
In relation to the rest of the concert, Viviane reveals that around 18 songs will be played, from the four albums released under her own name, including "the singles and the best known songs".
These two concerts are a start to the programming of the artist's ten-year solo career. «I will also launch a best of, with an original theme in November, and there will be more concerts, at that time, in the rest of the country and one more in the Algarve», he reveals.

Viviane has already been to countries like South Africa and Ireland and has an album physically edited in Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg, by a Music of the World label, which has received «excellent reviews». But the singer wants more. «I hope that it bears fruit and that I manage to show my music in concert in these countries, it is the dream of any musician to play abroad. It's good to play in Portugal, but if we have a whole world, why not sing all over the world?».
In her long career, Viviane has already given many concerts, but the singer keeps a few in her memory. “Once, a person came to say to me: “I can't imagine how I feel when I came to your concert, I didn't even know her well. I was on the verge of doing less good things and you saved me tonight.” Hearing such a thing chills you.
