CVA_VisitaJorgeMonteiro_QdTor 1The Algarve's vineyards and wineries were made known to the «most responsible for the promotion of the Wines of Portugal», the president of ViniPortugal Jorge Monteiro, on a visit promoted by the Algarve Wine Commission (CVA), last Wednesday.

In his passage through the region, Jorge Monteiro visited spaces and explorations in several municipalities, namely Loulé, Lagoa, Albufeira, Lagos and Silves, and he would have liked what he saw (and tasted).

According to CVA, the president of ViniPortugal "dialogued with the producers and winemakers of the wineries visited, asked many questions and was favorably surprised by the evolution in the production and quality of Algarve wines".

In addition to tasting the region's wines, the visitor also had the opportunity to mix them with the region's typical cuisine, in this case, horse mackerel and Garoupa à Dom Vinho, a dish named after the lacobrigense restaurant where the delegation had lunch.

In the end, there was the promise of new meetings between CVA and Viniportugal, as well as the creation of protocols to take the wine produced in the Algarve Wine Region to the four corners of the world.
