Cascavel BeachThe Algarve rider Miguel Praia took fifth place in the second race of the Moto 1000GP championship, which took place this weekend in Cascavel, Brazil.

The race was marked by rain and electrical problems on the Honda CBR 1000R SP from Center Moto, which affected Miguel Praia's performance. In qualifying, the driver did not go beyond eighth position and in the race, with the floor drying, the best Praia achieved was fifth place, which allows him to keep his second place in the championship.

“Unfortunately we couldn't have a properly tuned bike for this weekend's race. With the weather conditions that were felt and the small problems with the bike that left us a lot of time in the box, we knew that the race will be very difficult», said the rider.

Miguel Praia even had his engine fail in some moments of the race. «I managed to get in fourth place in the first phase and held my position, but with the track drying out and no traction control due to electronic issues that even caused the engine to switch on and off at times, it was very difficult when the track started to dry. I ended up being passed by Porto and I couldn't recover», he lamented.

"I'm still second in the championship and that's what we'll defend in the next race."

Next weekend, Miguel Praia will be at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in the Supersport World Championship, which marks his last race in World Championships.
