The young people of Tavira once again have a program of “socially useful” activities to occupy their free time during the summer holidays.
Registration for the 2015 edition of «Tavira – Active Holidays» is now open and can be made until the 22nd of June.
This free time occupation program has two modalities, a short-term one (three hours a day spread over ten working days) and a long-term one (six hours a day for twenty working days).
The short-term modality will provide young people with a work experience in a local authority service. The long period is for the opening of churches. In both modalities, participants will be entitled to a scholarship, insurance and a certificate of participation.
«This initiative is intended to respond to the needs of young people and families in the municipality. The program will encourage the youngsters to have direct contact with active life, instilling in them civic values and responsibilities, as well as improving their knowledge of the reality in which they operate, namely in the historical, cultural and social aspects", according to the Câmara de Tavira .
