“Caracol”, a play based on a short story by Luís Sepúlveda, is presented today, the 4th, at 10:30 am, in the Auditorium of the Fortaleza de Sagres.
An initiative integrated in the “DiVaM for the + and – little ones” and organized in partnership with Tertúlia Associação Sócio Cultural de Aljezur, the play is aimed at children and young people, from 6 years old, but it is also a show for all who like stories, questions, discoveries and travels.
The “Snail” is divided into two distinct parts: the first consists of an “almost” formal presentation about snails, their constitution, their way of life, that is, it is a phase of “almost” scientific exposure about snails. This part that exposes the “said reality” has a character of introduction (extremely dynamic!) to the show.
In the second phase, viewers will “immerse themselves in the world of fiction”, through Luís Sepúlveda's book “The story of a Caracol who discovered the importance of slowness”,
And it is at this stage that we will “enter” the story of a snail that wanted to know why it was slow and why it didn't have a name, only his own. These questions will lead this snail to be expelled from its colony and to travel across the meadow in search of its answers.
The animals that he encounters along the way and everything he discovers lead him to know that he is a rebel and that he has the possibility of saving his companions, simply because he is the way he is, slow and curious (a being who wonders, who Want to know more…).
The show is conceived and performed by an actress who presents, tells and interprets the different characters, using small objects, which transform the scenic space, initially more bare, into something warmer, closer to each one of us. This scenic transformation accompanies the show itself, which proposes a path between a cold and pragmatic presentation and an intimate and warm moment.
In the space, the trail of the show is marked, as if it were a guiding line from the past to the present, as if it were a record of a journey…
«Caracol» is another event organized by Associação Tertúlia, within the scope of DiVaM, the Program for the Dissemination and Valorization of Monuments in the Algarve.
