A 30-year-old man attacked two women this morning when he tried to rob the house where they live, in Faro. The PSP ended up arresting the man, who already had a criminal record for similar offenses.
According to the PSP, the “individual was surprised by one of the residents forcing the entrance gate to the housing courtyard, having immediately attacked her with punches and attempted strangulation”. The mother of the victim left the house and threatened the thief with an air pressure gun "to try to stop the attacks", but the man took the weapon from her and attacked her with the stock. Afterwards, he ran away, taking the “air pressure”.
The PSP "started steps in the city through patrol cars and the team of the Criminal Investigation Squad" and the suspect was eventually intercepted while he was in the company of two other people. The man was eventually arrested and the weapon recovered when it was 5:00 in the morning.
According to the same source, the police confirmed at the police station that the man "already had several files in which he is associated with this type of crime."
