Sauvignon Blanc Malacca1O algarvian wine Malaca Sauvignon Blanc 2014, produced by the Agricultural Society Quinta da Malaca, won a silver medal at the Sauvignon World Contest, which took place on May 22nd and 23rd in Venice.

This wine, fruit of the art of oenologist Joana Maçanita, is the first Sauvignon Blanc Algarve, putting itself alongside others produced, for example, in France or Italy, among other competing and awarded countries.

the contest of wines Sauvignon Blanc it intends not only to promote this specific variety, but also to raise awareness among oenophiles to the quantity of superior quality varieties produced in various corners of the globe, and not only in France, the original country of Sauvignon.

816 references from various countries were admitted to the competition. Portugal won three silver medals, two in the category of Sauvignon Blanc and one in the category Blend (wines prepared with two or more varieties).

A Quinta da Malacca, owned by Luís Cabrita, is located in the sandy terrain of the Pera area, almost on the border between the municipalities of Silves and Albufeira.
