The Town Council of Tavira is carrying out an intervention at the Porta Nova level crossing, the aim of which is to increase security levels at the site.
The contract consists of replacing the pavement of the passage and will motivate an investment of around 81 euros.
“The intervention is based on replacing the existing bituminous with reinforced rubber panels, which completely eliminate the cut for the circulation of the railway wheel. Its removable system allows the line to return to its initial position, after the passage of the trains», as revealed by Câmara de Tavira, in a press release.
With this change, crossing the railway line will be safer and will allow “the passage of bicycles, roller skates and wheelchairs without any danger”.
