karting_01The Portuguese drivers Yohan Sousa and Andriy Pits, from the Strakka Baihtech team, finished this Sunday in 21st and 27th places, respectively, the final race of the first race of the European Karting Championship KF-Junior, held this weekend at Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve , in Portimão.

The two national drivers had started from 18th and 24th positions, so, throughout the race, they were losing ground to their opponents.

The KF-Junior final was won by Belgian Kenny Roosens, driver who won everything over the weekend: the qualifying heats, the Pre Final and the Final. In KF, the winner was Englishman Ben Hanley.

The two other Portuguese in the competition, Luciano Carvalho and João Ferreira, stayed in the repechage race, with 14th and 17th places, achieved on Sunday morning.

Over this weekend, the Algarve Autódromo complex also enjoyed the debut on the Algarve track of the TCR International Series and also the second race of the Sport Prototypes National Championship.

The 2015 Sport Prototypes National Speed ​​Championship continues on the 11th and 12th of July on the mythical urban circuit of Vila Real.
