The I Trail do Baixo Guadiana takes place on May 31st in Rio Seco, Castro Marim. The event is organized by the Grupo Desportivo e Cultural do Rio Seco, together with the Grupo de Athletes Intermarché Trail Runners and Associação Rodactiva.
According to the municipality of Castromarinense, which provides logistical support for the event, 200 participants are expected on the trail.
Trail is a running modality with a component of greater contact with nature and evasion, which explores to the full the characteristics of the trails, paths and geographic features of the landscape. Usually, these tests take longer, due to the hardness of the courses.
The I Trail do Baixo Guadiana Intermarché will have three routes, a 25km long one, a 15km long one and an 8km hike. The matches are scheduled for 09:00 am, with prizes scheduled for 13:00 pm.
The initiative is part of the calendar of sporting activities of the Eurocity of Guadiana.
