The final audience meeting for the constitution of a Forest Intervention Zone (ZIF) in São Bartolomeu de Messines Norte is scheduled for May 30, at 16 pm, in Foz do Ribeiro (at Casa de Pasto Odília).
The Chamber of Silves recalls that, with the objective of providing forest owners and producers with the conditions for active management of their forest heritage, in a joint and sustainable manner, this ZIF is being created. After the preliminary and public consultation phases are completed, this final hearing meeting follows.
This session, promoted by the Founding Nucleus of the ZIF of SB Messines Norte, aims to present and explain the elements of public consultation, as well as answering the owners' questions and doubts regarding the constitution of the ZIF.
The creation of the ZIF of SB Messines, inserted in the parishes of SB Messines and S. Marcos da Serra, has 2613 hectares.
In the municipality of Silves, there are currently five ZIF: ZIF Arade, ZIF Odelouca, ZIF Alte/SB Messines, ZIF S. Marcos da Serra and ZIF S. Marcos da Serra Nordeste.
The ZIF, in addition to allowing all the guidelines defined and the territorial planning instruments (national, regional and municipal) to be put into practice, allow its members to benefit from access to community funds, as well as the realization of projects, among other actions that promote the profitability of forest resources and products.
