AMAL – Comunidade Intermunicipal do Algarve wants to see the team it created reach the podium of the European Cycling Challenge, an international competition that aims to encourage the use of the bicycle as a regular means of transport.
And so that there are more and more members of the Algarve team, which already has more than one hundred participants, a program of events was created to help representatives from the region reach the podium.
This contest is open to the participation of all citizens, of all ages, residents or tourists who visit the region during the competition period, that is, until May 31st. Those interested in being part of the Algarve team and contributing with some pedaling to the cause will only have to download the «Cycling365» application, available for Android, iOS and Windows.
In Loulé, throughout the month of May, the «Vilamoura Public Bikes» challenge takes place for users of public bicycles. the «Day of the Bicycle», on Thursdays, to encourage the use of bicycles when traveling to Municipal Swimming Pools.
These are just examples given by AMAL of the actions that are being promoted, but there is more to happen in other municipalities in the region. More information about the activity program can be obtained here.
