This initiative by the Jornal Publituris aims to distinguish the most technical areas of tourism. For this purpose, criteria such as: communication and marketing policies, capacity for innovation, generated business, actions developed with the trade or the perceived quality of service are taken into account. The assessment takes into account the work carried out by each of the nominees during the previous year.

The winners, in addition to the award, are also given a seal that certifies the excellence of the company or institution, or the autarchy.

With the aim of distinguishing excellence in tourism, the Publituris Portugal Trade Awards had their first edition in 2010, on the Lisbon Tourism Exchange, and mark the first day of the international tourism fair.
