A man shot his ex-wife in the head and then tried to commit suicide, shooting himself, also in the head, this Thursday, at around 10:00 am, at the access to the Hotel Lake Resort, near Praia da Falésia, in Vilamoura.
Despite the seriousness of the head injuries, both were found still alive, shortly afterwards, by an agent of authority, having been transported, in serious condition, by the INEM to the hospital in Faro.
To what Sul Informação it was a crime of passion. Fatima, the 34-year-old victim, was a therapist at the Lake Resort spa and was getting divorced from her husband, although he did not accept the situation.
So this morning the 35-year-old man made a wait for his ex-wife as she was arriving at his workplace.
With his car, the aggressor blocked Fátima's vehicle, positioning himself beside her and starting an argument. She will have closed the window, which he broke, then fired a gunshot, hitting her in the head but not killing her.
Then, the aggressor got out of the car and turned the gun on himself, having also shot himself in the head, to commit suicide. But, once again, he missed his goal, despite being seriously injured.
The two victims were found still conscious, by an agent of authority. The GNR was the first force to arrive at the scene, having awaited the arrival of the INEM rescue teams and preserved the crime scene for the Judiciary Police (PJ) experts, who are responsible for the investigation.
The couple had previously lived in Armação de Pêra, but Fátima, who has a 4-year-old daughter, was now living in Faro.
At the site were two emergency medical and resuscitation vehicles, a life support ambulance, a medical emergency ambulance and a medical emergency motorcycle.
