Three women wanted by French justice for the perpetration of the crime of criminal association and for complicity in the crimes of pimping and money laundering were arrested in the Algarve, announced today the Southern Directorate of the Judiciary Police.
The three women, between 37 and 47 years old, arranged, from the Algarve, "paid sexual encounters" in various European capitals. This criminal practice took place, according to the PJ, "since September 2011, under the direction of the organization's leaders."
For this purpose, the detainees "had mobile phones and computer equipment at their disposal and resorted to the prostitution network controlled by the organization".
The head of this chain was a 55-year-old Dutchman, who had already been arrested, on the last day of September, in Boliqueime (Loulé), in the villa where he lived and where he controlled the international luxury prostitution business, with clients in France, England and Holland.
According to Correio da Manhã, 500 euros were charged for each hour of sex, with the profits shared equally between women and the network.
At the time of the arrest of the leader of the network, the authorities seized, in the house, close to 8500 euros and 11 thousand British pounds in banknotes, a luxury car, valued at 80 thousand euros, three computers, four mobile phones and various jewelery items . He also seized the man's accounts, where 200 thousand euros were deposited.
The PJ detained the leader in the Algarve, after the French authorities issued a European arrest warrant, after the arrest of other elements of the network in France, England and Holland.
The three women will now be present at the Court of Appeal of Évora, to apply the coercive measures, until their eventual surrender to the French judicial authorities.
