paulo gonçalves3_peqThe Portuguese Paulo Gonçalves (Honda) was 3rd, 3min02sec behind the winner, Australian Toby Price (KTM), in the 11th and penultimate stage of Dakar2015, this Friday played between Termas de Rio Hondo and Rosario, in Argentina.

With the 2nd place in the stage achieved by Joan Barreda Bort, Gonçalves' teammate, Honda maintains pressure on Marc Coma (KTM), who was 6th today, but remains in charge of the General.

Paulo Gonçalves, penalized with 15 minutes the day before, for an illegal engine change, is now 17min49sec from Coma and is still 2nd in General, when all that remains is to dispute the final connection, this Saturday, to Buenos Aires.

helder rodrigues_peqIf he finishes the Dakar 2015 in 2nd place, as everything indicates, Paulo Gonçalves will equal the best Portuguese performance ever in the race, achieved by the Algarve Ruben Faria, in 2013.

Today, Hélder Rodrigues (Honda) was 7th, at 8min40sec, and Ruben Faria (KTM) came in 20th, at 16min21sec.

Overall, Ruben Faria maintains 6th place, and Hélder Rodrigues climbed one place to 11th.

In cars, Carlos Sousa (Mitsubishi) was today 6th in a stage won by the Argentine Terranova, and is now 8th in General, while Leal dos Santos (Nissan) finished the race in 17th, being 25th in General.

This Saturday, the last stage is disputed, linking Rosário to Buenos Aires.
