AuthorThe launch event of one of the biggest tourist guides in the Algarve, the “Algarve Travel Guide: 54 Cities/Towns/Villages”, by the British Karl Bradshaw-White, is scheduled for February 9th, at 15 pm, at the hotel Holiday Inn, in Armação de Pêra.

The author took about two years to complete the work, having personally visited all the cities, towns and villages that make up the book. Karl is also the author of all the photographs illustrating the guide.

According to the author, the aim was to write a travel guide for the Algarve that would stand out from the rest, which is why Karl talks about 54 Algarve cities, towns and villages that many other travel guides ignore.

The book, in English, is full of information that the tourist would hardly have access to otherwise. It includes all the details of 44 events, including the Festa da Espiga, the Sweet Potato Festival of Aljezur and the most recent Festival Thanks Portugal, among many other interesting facts about the region.

Book coverThe book will be sold throughout Europe and also in the United States. According to the publisher, in the future the guide may also be published in Portuguese.

The launch event will be sponsored by Quinta dos Vales, which will offer the wine to guests, and the participation of the Algarve poet Manuel Neto dos Santos, who will sing live during a presentation of photographs of the region.

The organization expects around 80 guests, including some of the mayors and parish councils in the region.

Karl Bradshaw-White was born in London in 1962, studied at Tylney Hall in Hampshire.

He worked with antiques, plastic arts and furniture restoration for 30 years. A self-taught artist, he exhibited at the Beecroft art gallery, winning an award for his work.

He entered the world of miniatures in the late 90s, after becoming one of the only artists in the world to specialize in Pietra Dura, a XNUMXth-century art that works in marble and semi-precious stones, with works exhibited in museums around the world.
