David santosDavid Santos has just been appointed chairman of the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission, on a service commission for a period of five years, this time culminating a public tender process to fill the position.

The appointment was made by the ministers of Regional Development and Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy, Miguel Poiares Maduro and Jorge Moreira da Silva, respectively, through Order No. 15008/2014, published yesterday in Diário da República.

The appointment follows the competitive procedure of the Recruitment and Selection Commission for Public Administration (CRESAP), which selects candidates for senior management positions in Public Administration and evaluates the merit of candidates for public managers, held in February 2014.

David Santos, 54 years old, graduated in Civil Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, holds the position of president of CCDR Algarve, in replacement since February 2012, and is inherently the manager of the Algarve Regional Operational Program (PO Algarve 21).
