Serra do Caldeirão is the chosen setting to host, next Sunday, the 7th, the XCO Regional Championship, an Olympic Cross Country Mountain Bike event. The best cyclists in the sport will be put to the test on what will be a true mountain competition course, marked by the strong presence of nature.
The Olympic Cross Country Mountain Bike event takes place throughout the entire day on Sunday, with the morning reserved for the younger classes, starting at 9:30 am, and the other classes, as well as competition, have the events scheduled for 13:30 pm.
With three different courses, one of 4,5 km for Elite, juniors and cadets, another of 1,9 km for juveniles and children and a shorter one of 0,6 km for beginners, this event welcomes participants of all ages , encouraging this sport.
The Alto da Arroteia Viewpoint will be the starting point and also the arrival point of a circuit that will have one of the best Algarve scenarios, with a route outlined along the verdant paths and corners full of nature in the Serra do Caldeirão.
The Regional XCO Championship takes place for the second consecutive year in the municipality of São Brás de Alportel, an initiative of the São Brasense association Bike Clube São Brás, and has the support of the City Council.
