Algarve get-togetherThe exhibition of João de Azevedo's painting exhibition «Lafaek: crocodiles of Timor» will open tomorrow, Saturday, at 18 pm, at Tertúlia Algarvia, where it will be on display until 23 October. The exhibition reveals «the meanings of the crocodile for the Timorese people».

A launch that joins a month full of activity in the cultural and gastronomic space of Vila Adentro de Faro, which celebrates its 1st birthday on the 27th of August. That night, there will be a party at Tertúlia Algarvia, with animation by DJ Discossauro.

This celebration, according to the association, is the culmination of an intense year, which has accelerated this past month. In August, Tertúlia Algarvia promoted and hosted different initiatives, such as musical performances by three groups participating in the FolkFaro and the opening of the exhibition «Algarve, um camp of humour», which can be visited until 26 October.

In addition to a restaurant component, focused on Algarve and Mediterranean flavors, Tertúlia Algarvia has carried out, in the last twelve months, several initiatives in the most varied areas: painting, handicraft and design exhibitions; workshops and cooking demonstrations; exhibition of documentaries; entrepreneurship meetings, among many others.

???????????????????????????????In terms of gastronomy, three projects are in progress: Algarteca – Chapter II, Mediterranean Diet and Cataplana Algarvia.

The Mediterranean Diet project also includes the production of videos by Tertúlia Algarvia. In this case, the most representative Algarve recipes of this food method were selected. This is a broader project that involves various entities in the Algarve, such as the Regional Coordination and Development Commission or the Câmara de Tavira, and which aims to safeguard the Mediterranean Diet, classified as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, in 2013.

The Cataplana Algarvia project is also the result of a regional partnership with the Algarve Tourism Region and the Algarve Tourism Association. Videos and a cookbook; experience programs for restaurants and operators; and familiarization visits for foreign journalists are the planned actions.
