GNRA man who had enough heroin with him for more than 3900 individual doses was arrested this Thursday, at dawn, by the GNR. The alleged drug dealer was surprised with the product after being stopped at an “Operation Stop” on the EN396, which connects the city of Loulé to Quarteira.

The soldiers who carried out the road surveillance operation and the prevention and fight against crime distrusted the man because of his “posture and nervous behavior”.

The elements of the GNR Territorial Detachment of Loulé searched the suspect and the passenger car in which he was following, where they found "three small packages" with the drug. In addition to the heroin, "two mobile phones and 187 euros" were seized.

After being presented to the judge, the 34-year-old man, resident in the metropolitan area of ​​Lisbon, was placed in preventive detention, and is now in the Prison Establishment of Olhão.

In fact, he was already well known by the authorities, as he had "a criminal record for the crimes of drug trafficking, arms trafficking and theft and tampering of vehicles, among others", according to a statement from the Territorial Command of Faro of the GNR.
