“Projeto Barril” will launch on Friday, at 14 pm, a “Mediterranean Diet Grocery”, a new space that will be located at Praia do Barril, in Tavira and will bring together regional products from the Algarve. Those unable to travel to the site will be served, as this project also includes an online store.
Designed within the scope of the local development initiative «Projeto Barril», promoted by the Pedras d'El Rei enterprise and the University of the Algarve, in partnership with several entities, this grocery store was inspired by the winning application of the Portuguese Mediterranean Diet for Intangible Heritage of Humanity, with Tavira as a representative community.
This business aims to make known the regional products that the Algarve has to offer, so «Algarvian producers of the wide range of food products in the region were contacted», according to the interns seeking to take advantage of the project to find innovative business ideas.
“In addition to the physical store, the Mediterranean Diet Grocer will also have an online store on the social network Facebook, adapted to the new market reality, which increasingly buys through the online channel”, they added.
