“Leave Pimba in peace”, with Bruno Nogueira and Manuela Azevedo, and the Reflect concert are the main highlights of the June program at TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão.

TEMPO starts this month's program on the 6th, with a benefit concert in favor of the Firefighters Volunteers of Portimão, organized by the Rotary Club of Praia da Rocha, in which the German wind quintet Pasu will perform, which will perform plays by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Ravel and Dvořák, in the Small Auditorium, at 21 pm, with tickets for 30 euros.

On the 9th, a Monday that is the eve of a holiday, Bruno Nogueira and Manuela Azevedo take the stage of the Grand Auditorium at 21 pm to present the show “Leave Pimba in Peace”, whose tickets cost 30 euros.

Always fascinated by the pimba universe, Bruno Nogueira proposes to give another life to these songs, joining Manuela Azevedo, vocalist of Clã, and other musicians who made jazz and pop arrangements where they would be unlikely.

On the 14th, the Grand Auditorium hosts the XII Meeting of Algarve Music Schools, organized by the Academy of Music of Lagos, which presents itself as an opportunity to see and hear, live, some of the great regional talents, as well as an opportunity to discover different instruments, composers and styles of music, with free entry.

This is followed by the presentation of the book “De mim para mim”, by Carolina Tendon, on June 21, at 17:30 pm, at Café Concerto, also with free admission.

The work brings together the phrases and texts written by Carolina, a young and promising dancer and choreographer from Portimo who recently passed away, at just 22 years of age.

On that same day, at 21 pm, and a year after the debut of his latest album, Reflect returns to TEMPO with a new musical proposal.

Following an alignment that goes through the albums “Último acto” (2008) and the homonymous “Reflect” (2013), the artist will share the stage with the guests of his two albums and will present himself accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of the Academy of Music from Lagos/Conservatory of Music from Portimão.

To the fusion of hip-hop and rock, new arrangements for the themes that are the perfect extension of the author are added, in this concert that takes place in the Grand Auditorium with tickets for 2 euros.

On the 27th and 28th, TEMPO hosts the FORA – Algarve Orality Festival, an exhibition of the oral tradition of the region, organized by Teia D'Impulsos in partnership with the associations ALVORecer and TIPO – Teatro Infantil de Portimão.

To be held between June 26 and 28, this festival will liven up the city center of Portimão and will promote performances, workshops, concerts, balls and lectures, with the theme of the oral heritage of the Algarve, which take place in various spaces in the city centre, including in TIME.

The June program ends on the 28th with the concert “Musica Mundi: Tango and more”, a journey around the history of tango with musicians Gonçalo Pescada, Sunita Mamtani and Emily McIntyre.

A trio of accordion, cello and bassoon will guide the audience through the world of tango, from the most popular “La cumparsita” by Gerardo Rodriguez, to the most erudite by Igor Stravinsky, in a concert organized by the Academy of Music of Lagos that will take place in the Grand Auditorium, at 21 pm, and tickets cost 30 euros.

All tickets can be purchased at the TEMPO ticket office, open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 13:30 pm to 18:30 pm, and on show days from 13:30 pm to 21:30 pm.
