The May program at Portimão Municipal Theater (TEMPO) ends with music by the Classical Orchestra of the Academy of Music of Lagos, alongside the Coro Cant'Arte, and with the piano by Júlio Resende, in a tribute to Amália Rodrigues' fado.

On May 23, and to celebrate its 28th anniversary, the Academy of Music of Lagos will present the world premiere of “Gilda das Amendoeiras”, a work commissioned from the Algarve composer Nuno Sequeira Rodrigues, with the participation of soloists from the Orquestra Clássica of the Academy and of the Cant'Arte Choir, under the musical direction of João Pedro Cunha, in a show scheduled for the Grand Auditorium, from 21 pm, whose tickets cost 30 euros.

In the same room, at 21 pm on May 30, a concert by one of the greatest Portuguese pianists of today, Júlio Resende, will take place, who took Amália's repertoire and made an intense album, where he tried to transfer all the emotional charge of fado to the piano , revisiting the most striking themes interpreted by the great diva of Portuguese music.

Having started his journey in jazz, in recent years the pianist has been approaching fado, transforming it into his object of study and accompanying Vânia Conde, Hélder Moutinho or Aldina Duarte, among other performers.

Tickets for this unmissable concert also cost 10 euros and can be purchased at the TEMPO ticket office, open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 13:30 pm to 18:30 pm, and on show days from 13:30 pm to 21:30 pm.
