About two hundred people, of the 440 who signed up, took part on Sunday, May 11, in the first edition of the «Spring Race», a walk/march/race aimed at raising funds to meet the daily difficulties of the Volunteer Firefighters of Portimao.
The initiative began at 9:00 am, with warm-up exercises at the Portimão Fire Station stop, followed by the two routes, of 6 and 10,5 kilometers.
Although the participation did not reach the numbers that the Fire Department had expected, even so, with the 5 euros paid by the 440 subscribers, 2200 euros were raised.
The Spring Race had the support of the Parish Council of Portimão, the media and some companies.
