The O2-Portimão club saw four of its athletes from the triathlon team take the podium in the round of the National Aquathlon Championship (age groups) which took place this Saturday in Setúbal.

Emma Yates and Ana Sanches took first and second place on the podium in group 40-44, Tomás Metcalfe took 2nd place in group 30-34 and António Raposo took first place in group 55-59.

The Portimonense team returns to compete in a new stage of the National Championships on June 10, in Peniche.

Before heading to Setúbal, on May 10th, the Portimão club organized the «I Triathlon of Alvor – Valter Pais», a tournament in an “open competition” format that brought together around one hundred athletes.

The absolute winner of the competition was the triathlete David Caldeirão do Peniche AC, in 2nd place Tomás Metcalfe from O2 – Portimão and in 3rd Leonardo Lopes do Louletano.

In the absolute female classification, triathlete Isa Parreira from Clube Xelb was the winner, in 2nd place Liliana Veríssimo from O2 – Portimão and in 3rd place Ana Ribeiro Sanches, also from O2 – Portimão.

By teams, O2 Portimão won in females and in males the victory went to Louletano, following the teams of Portimão Portinado (2nd) and O2 (3rd).
