the algarvian Vila Joya, on the coast of Albufeira, was elected the 22nd best restaurant in the world, in a list that will be headed again this year by the Danish Noma, who had lost the lead in 2013.

The Algarve restaurant, which has the Head Austrian Dieter Koschina (2 Michelin stars) his great reference, rose 15 places, of the 37th to 22nd place in the list of the 50 Best Restaurants in the World.

O Vila Joya first entered the list of The World's 50 Best Restaurants in 2012, thus becoming the first Portuguese restaurant to achieve this feat.

The prizes The World's 50 Best Restaurants are organized by the British magazine “Restaurant”, a world reference in the restaurant, being voted by more than 900 experts from all over the world.

This year, the table is again led by Noma (Copenhagen, Denmark), followed by Catalan El Celler de Can Roca (which was number 1 in 2013) from Girona, Spain, and by Osteria Francescana, in Modena, Italy.

O Eleven Madison Park, from New York (USA), is the 4th, the Londoner Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, from England, is the 5th, the Basque Mugaritz, from San Sebastian, Spain, is 6th, the Brazilian DOM (the best in South America, having your Head, Alex Atala, won the Chef's Choice Award, voted only by chefs) is 7th, the also Basque Arzak, from San Sebastián, Spain, is 8th, the Align, from Chicago (USA), is 9th, and finally The Ledbury, from London, England, is 10th, thus closing the Top10.
