Vila Real de Santo António and Ayamonte receive again, for the eighth consecutive year, the Football World Cup, between the 12th and 20th of April. This, which is the biggest children's football tournament in the world, has the participation of 4.000 children from more than 50 nationalities and around 200 teams that will compete in close to 750 games.

During the week of the event, the hotel occupancy rate in the municipalities of VRSA and Ayamonte will reach 100 percent, contributing to the economic dynamism of the two cities. In global terms, the financial return to the local economy is expected to reach 2 million euros.

«Within the Algarve, this is certainly the event with the largest number of athletes involved and with the greatest impact in economic terms, always constituting a high point for hotels and restaurants», notes Luís Gomes, president of the VRSA City Council.

At national and international level, the participation of the best football clubs in the world stands out. Benfica, Sporting, Porto, Mexico America, Seville, Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Ajax, Chelsea, Arsenal, Betis Seville, Vasco da Gama, Flu Recreio (Brazil) and Aspire Sports Academy (Qatar) are among the confirmed names.

For the second consecutive year, the event is part of the activities of the Eurocity Ayamonte – Castro Marim – Vila Real de Santo António, a fact that, according to the mayor of Ayamonte, Antonio J. Rodríguez Castillo, attests to «the importance and the Iberian dimension of the event ».

Once again, participants will have at their disposal a permanent river route between VRSA and Ayamonte, allowing participants to cross the Guadiana and follow the games played in the sports complex of Vila Real de Santo António, Lusitano and Beira. sea ​​(Portugal), and in the Cidade de Ayamonte and Blas Infante stadiums (Spain).

O 2014 Mundialito it is divided into four groups: in addition to the usual training (7/8 years old, 9/10 years old and 11/12 years old), it rejoins the Cherubim class, aimed at children born in 2008 (soccer 6).

In addition to the football festival, there is the «Mundialito Center», a space for socializing between sportsmen, clubs and sponsors where merchandise products can be purchased and where numerous activities for visitors take place.

The «Museu Mundialito» is located here, where nearly 3 items such as shirts and books autographed by the great names of football are on display.

Also between the 13th and 15th of April, the Mundialito Museum will host the two cups won by the Spanish national team at the 2010 World Cup (South Africa) and at the 2012 European Championship (Poland/Ukraine).

This year, in addition to the football party, the organization prepared the Mundialito Festival, an event that will take place on April 17, 18 and 19, at the VRSA Multipurpose Pavilion, and has names such as «Smash», «Overule» or «Kura».

At the same time, the organization will hold another edition of Mundialito Color, on April 19, at 10:00 am. Considered the most fun and colorful race in the world, Mundialito Color will tour the streets of Monte Gordo, passing by the magnificent scenery of the Mata Nacional das Dunas Litorais.
