The GNR detained four people for drug trafficking, following an operation to combat this crime carried out by the Criminal Investigation Nucleus of Tavira, which led to three house searches, two in Olhão and another in Castro Marim. In these searches, heroin, weapons and money were seized.

According to the GNR, during the operation, carried out this Monday, "sufficient heroin was seized for 279 individual doses, two firearms and various ammunition, an extendable stick, a bladed weapon, two motor vehicles and 2.200 euros" .

In addition to this material, «several articles related to the packaging, packaging and distribution of a narcotic product were found, in the form of direct sales to the consumer».

The detainees, three men, one of whom with a criminal record for the crime of offenses to serious physical integrity and a 19-year-old girl, were today presented to the Judicial Courts of the District of Faro and from Vila Real de Santo António.

"With the conclusion of this investigation, the National Republican Guard believes it has dealt a heavy blow to drug trafficking in the municipalities of Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António," added that police force.
