Sunday will be the day of the Promenade Concert at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, an initiative of the Orquestra Clássica do Sul which, this time, will provide families with the piece “The Musicians of Bremen”, written by the Brothers Grimm and set to music by the American composer Bernard Rogers.

The concert, which starts at 12 pm, will be directed by conductor John Avery and the presentation and narration of the story will be in charge of Susana Paixão.

«The Bremen Musicians» portrays the story of a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster, mistreated by their owners, who abandon them and decide to go to Bremen, a city where they will know freedom. The music that the American composer Rogers composed according to this story will be highlighted, presenting another moment that will not leave indifferent children and adults.

This is another concert of the Promenade cycle «Histórias com Música». This cycle of four concerts began with the piece “Pequeno Tailor” and now continues with “The Musicians of Bremen”, both by the Brothers Grimm. This is followed by “A Menina do Mar” by Sophia de Mello Breyner, with music by Lopes-Graça (April) and “Pedro eo Lobo”, by Prokofiev (May).

Tickets for the show cost 10 euros, with a 25 percent discount for over 65s and a 30 percent discount for TMF Friends. Children under 30 pay 5 euros.
