Farense Luís Esteves, athlete from the Surf Club of Faro, was this Thursday eliminated in the second round of the Huanchaco Longboard Pro, in Peru, race of the qualifying circuit (LQS) for the Longboard World Championship in China.

After dominating and winning his heat in the first round, the day before, Luís Esteves today showed little aggression and positioning failures, giving too much space and opportunities to his opponents, which ended up dictating his fourth place in the heat, won by the runner-up -World Champion, Jeferson da Silva (Brazil).

In Peru, Luís Esteves proved to have enough surf to face the best in the world, lacking only competitive aggressiveness. He will not have already achieved the necessary points to be in China, so he will have to compete in another LQS, possibly in Europe.

Luís Esteves is the national runner-up in Longboard in title.
