The Center for Research and Information on Heritage of Cacela/CMVRSA, in Santa Rita, will receive, starting tomorrow, February 15th, «Cosmos», an exhibition of terracotta sculpture by Sara Navarro.

During the opening of the exhibition, which marks the start of another exhibition season at the center, at 16 pm, the CIIPC and the artist will invite visitors to participate in the collective modeling of a sculpture, testing the techniques and materials used.

In this exhibition, the artist bridges the gap between the traditional processes of ceramic production and contemporary artistic creation.

Privileging the relationship between craftsmanship and raw material, Sara Navarro evokes the art and culture of other times, simultaneously building new forms and models through the art of fire.

Sara Navarro has a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and works between teaching, research and artistic practice.

She is currently a grantee of the Foundation for Science and Technology, under the doctoral program «Sculpture, Archeology and Museums: contemporary transfigurations and mediations» at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.

The exhibition will be on display at the CIIPC, located in the former primary school of Santa Rita, until the 31st of March. It can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 13 pm and from 14 pm to 18 pm. Admission is free.
