The cycle of Promenade Concerts promoted by the Orquestra Clássica do Sul and Caixa Geral de Depósitos is back in 2014 with the magic of “Histórias com Música”.

The first concert will take place on Sunday, February 23, at the end of the morning (at 12:00) at Teatro das Figuras in Faro, and in the afternoon (at 16:30 pm) at the Municipal Auditorium of Lagoa.

“A História do Pequeno Tailor”, a classic from the Brothers Grimm collection with music by Harsányi, a French composer of Hungarian origin, is the highlight of this program directed by guest conductor José Eduardo Gomes.

This cycle, which runs from February to May, one Sunday a month, and in which stories and other surprises await the audience, mainly made up of families, from kids to adults, also has three more sessions where the works “Musicos de Bremen” by the Brothers Grimm, “The Girl from the Sea” by Sophia de Mello Breyner and “Pedro and the Wolf” by Prokofiev. The music of Harsányi, Rogers, Lopes-Graça and Prokofiev will reunite and delight families.

This is an initiative of Orquestra Clássica do Sul in co-production with Teatro Municipal de Faro and with the support of the Municipality of Lagoa and the sponsorship of Caixa Geral de Depósitos.
