The Chamber of Faro organizes again a cleaning action in the Ria Formosa on the 25th, 26th, 27th and 29th of March and 1st of April, with strong help from students from schools in the municipality. The actions will focus on specific areas, on different days, namely the barrier islands of Faro, the islets and the salt marsh area.
On the 25th, 26th, 27th of March and 1st of April, the cleaning actions will take place at Ilha da Culatra, Praia de Faro (western core), Ilha Deserta and Ilha do Farole are intended for students from EB 1 schools in the municipality of Faro.
On March 29, the actions will take place at Praia de Faro (ria and coast), Barrinha and Ilhotes and are intended for all volunteers who want to join this cause. The concentration is scheduled for 9:15 am, at the Nautical Center.
Those who want to join in the cleaning, it is recommended that they come prepared and wear a hat and sunscreen and that they bring gloves, comfortable clothes and shoes, water and lunch. The “Clean the Ria” initiative, which is now in its 9th edition, is part of the environmental education activities of the Blue Flag Program in the municipality. "This action already has the synergy developed with various entities and a range of volunteers who will seek to convey a message of awareness and responsibility that we all must have towards the preservation of existing natural resources", illustrated the Chamber of Faro.
