Deejays, poetry, theater, street animation, design, plastic arts, commerce, exhibitions, moth market, gastronomy, ecological vehicles, fashion show, flash mob. There is a bit of everything in the second edition of the «Bivar – Art, Design and Culture» initiative, which today, between 16 pm and 00 am, once again invades Rua Conselheiro Bívar, in Baixa de Faro. The only condition: is that each initiative has massive doses of creativity.

This is, according to its promoters, an initiative that aims to give impetus to the creation of a cultural circuit on Rua Conselheiro Bivar, one of the most emblematic streets of Faro's nightlife.

«Bivar – Art, Design and Culture» is organized by a group of entities and people, especially Vera Pinheiro, from the «Sardinha de Papel» store, one of the first to open recently on that street, Davide Alpestana, from the Tenente Palace , André Oliveira, from the Hotel de Faro, and also António Lacerda, from the National Association of Designers, whose headquarters are also located there.

After the «extremely positive» balance of the first edition of Bivar, in October, which «exceeded all expectations and a few more», as highlighted by André Oliveira, from the Hotel Faro, in an interview to RUA FM, «in this second edition, we already have more partners», added Davide Alpestana, from Palácio do Tenente.

“There is a spontaneous involvement, it means that people from Faro they are attentive, they want to do things, and we are here to involve them», said Alpestana in an interview with university radio.

For her part, Vera Pinheiro stressed that “each space has the freedom to program what makes sense to itself and the difference between each space also enriches the initiative”.

David Alpestana announced that today will be a pretext to reopen, within the scope of Bivar, "two stores that were closed" on Rua Conselheiro Bivar. «One will have an exhibition of Visual Arts students from the University of Algarve, the other, the former Loja do Chiado, we are going to reopen there to put the moth market there, during the day, and the te-Atrito performance, at night».

From the vast programme, in addition to the aforementioned events, the inauguration, by the National Association of Designers, of the photographic exhibition “Foto Assemblage” stands out at 16 pm.

The Tenente Palace receives the Natal Mix, where fashion, creative recycling or music are discovered.

In Sardinha de Papel, to the sound of Dj Sir Aiva, you can visit an exhibition of the creative ceramics course and the exhibition “Relational forms”.

The hotel Faro receives a talk about violence and in the Building of the Bar da Associação (BA) there is an art exhibition from the Visual Arts course at the University of Algarve.

There is also a RUA broadcast on site between 16:00 pm and 19:00 pm.
