The launching ceremony of the first stone in the north wing of Building 2 of the Campus of Gambelas of the University of Algarve, which will host the Medicine course, as of the 2015/2016 school year, took place on Thursday, and it counted. with the presence of the Secretary of State for Higher Education, the Dean of UAlg António Branco, and the Mayor of Faro, among other personalities.
The municipality of the Algarve capital considers that the act is “of the greatest significance for medical students, and therefore it is excellent news for the entire municipality”.
The Chamber of Faro therefore welcomes «this important advance and hopes that the Medicine Course at the University of Algarve will continue on the path of its full affirmation».
The integrated master's course in medicine has been offered since 2009 and involves close to 150 students, having already trained 29 new doctors.
