The town of Odeleite, in the municipality of Castro Marim, will celebrate the Christmas season. The festivities start on December 16th, with the inauguration of the crib in the village, which lasts until January 6th.

On the weekend of December 21st and 22nd, between 13:00 and 18:00, the «Mercadinho da Filhó e Empanadilha» with bread and sweets workshops, seasonal songs, music and entertainment.

Here, the Christmas season does not go unnoticed and redoubles attention for the typical sweets, also a traditional bread and sweets workshop at the Casa de Odeleite, where everyone can watch, learn and, effectively, "get their hands dirty".

Also in the pedagogical component, a fair of local products, arts and crafts demonstration, exhibition of UTL works and an exhibition of Nature photographs.

In a more playful area, the inauguration of the village's nativity scene, performances by choral groups, a space for the youngest with Santa Claus and face painting, music, bonfire, tasting the famous «caldo verde» and lots and lots of entertainment .

The initiative «Natal na Aldeia» aims to promote the territory and traditional activities, trying to attract residents and visitors with diversified and differentiated activities in a village that is an example of the potential of the interior of the Lower Guadiana.

It should be noted that the initiative is jointly organized by the Odiana Association and the Social Association of the Parish of Odeleite. Its promoter is the Associação Terras do Baixo Guadiana (ATBG), part of the «Um Another Algarve» project and has the support of the Castro Marim City Council and the local Parish Council.
