Portimonense ascended to the leadership of the II League, after beating Sporting da Covilhã by 2-1 this Sunday, in a game of the 16th round, played at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão.

The Algarve team reached the interval to win, with a goal scored by central Rui Correia, in the 16th minute. In the second half, Forbes scored the equalizer (75 minutes), but four minutes later it was Zambujo's turn to score for Portimonense.

Sporting da Covilhã ended up with ten elements, after, on 53 minutes, Rocha was sent off after seeing the direct red card.

The team led by Lázaro Oliveira, who with this victory came to command the classification of the II League, also ended up benefiting from the draw of the previous commander, Moreirense, at Leixões (1-1). He thus gained 33 points, one more than Moreira de Cónegos' team, 2nd ranked, and three more than Penafiel, who on Saturday had tied.
