The Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) is preparing a roadshow in Spain, with a view to attracting tourists from this market to the Algarve destination during the low season. The initiative will last for three days, starting on the 28th of this month, and will take the charms of the Algarve to Seville, Granada and Madrid.

The «Algarve Encanta» roadshow is aimed at professionals in the sector and will invest, in each city, in a workshop that will bring together the Algarve's tourism offer in a privileged space for business.

The concept is simple: allow the 30 hoteliers and travel agents in the Algarve that participate in this action to present their services and make direct sales to the invited Spanish trade.

It is precisely these professionals from Seville, Granada and Madrid who will later sell holiday packages in the Algarve to the locals.

«We are talking about a universe of more than 14 million Spaniards residing in the communities of Madrid and Andalusia», declares the president of RTA Desidério Silva, for whom the round of travel agents in Spain will be, therefore, «favorable to business and positive for the dissemination of the Algarve destination'.

The roadshow program also includes a dinner in each city reserved for trade and local entities and press, which should total more than 300 people.

"The confirmations we have so far show the success of this initiative, which takes place on purpose in October, the month that marks the beginning of the period of lower tourist flow in the Algarve", says Desidério Silva, recalling that the promotion in Spain is a competence of the regions of tourism since May, when the new legal regime for the country's regional tourism areas came into force.

The model of the «Algarve Encanta» roadshow will be replicated in November, taking the name of the Algarve to A Coruña, Vigo and, this time, also to Porto and Aveiro.

The two shares of RTA in the broader domestic market (Portugal and Spain) represent an investment of around 55 thousand euros.
