The municipal executive of Loulé took office this Monday and has already started to introduce changes. From now on, there is a “new regulation that will guarantee that the Chamber meetings, fortnightly, are all public, that is, open to the participation of the citizens”.

According to the Loulé Chamber, "until now, only one of the council sessions of the month allowed the population to attend the meeting, expose their issues or make any intervention." "Thus, this initiative aims to create a closer relationship with citizens, in a policy of proximity, openness and availability of elected officials to citizens," he added.

Still knowing the corners of the house (or remembering, in the case of the new president Vítor Aleixo), the socialist executive sworn in on Saturday will dedicate the week to visiting, "in phases", the different services.

At this moment, the teams of the GAP (Office of Support to the President) are already constituted, composed by the assistants of the president, Abílio Sousa and Carlos Carmo, and by the secretary, Paula Murta, and GAV (Office of Support to the Council), composed of the secretaries of the councilor, Lígia Brito, Sónia Neves and Luís Monteiro, who will support the president and councilor.

"As for the portfolios, despite having already taken place a preparatory meeting on this matter, the distribution of portfolios will only be made official at the time of the first Chamber meeting of this new executive", said the municipality in a press release.
