The Left Block asked the Government for clarification on the possible closing of the health extensions of Alferce and Marmelete, in the municipality of Monchique and wants to know why the Community Council of the Algarve II Health Center Group (ACES), to which they belong, it has not met once during the current year.

Given that this situation is against the provisions of the operating assumptions of this structure, the Bloc deputies questioned Paulo Macedo about the reasons that may be at the origin of such a result», advanced the Parliamentary Group of the BE, in a press release.

“The Council of the Community is elected for a period of three years and must meet ordinarily once a semester. It is responsible for giving an opinion on ACES' multiannual and annual activity plans and respective budget, as well as for monitoring them. This body is also empowered to alert the executive director to facts that reveal serious deficiencies in the provision of health care; give an opinion on the annual activities report and management account; ensure the articulation of ACES, in health matters, with municipalities in its geographic area, propose actions of education and promotion of health and fight against disease, to be carried out by ACES in partnership with municipalities and other institutions represented in the Community Council and dynamize associations and user networks that promote volunteer teams,” added the Bloco.
