Over the weekend, Clube Naval de Portimão won first place by teams in the IX Portugal Children's Championship of the Optimist class, which took place in Figueira da Foz.
The competition was sponsored by EDP and was organized by the Clube Naval da Figueira da Foz.
The current champion Beatriz Gago, an athlete from Clube Naval de Portimão, won first place in women's and also 3rd place in the absolute.
In third place in females, Beatriz Cintra was also highlighted.
In the overall podium, the 1st place went to Manuel Ramos (Club of Vela do Barreiro), the 2nd to Alex Baptista (Club of Vela da Costa Nova) and the 3rd, as mentioned, to the Algarve Beatriz Gago.
It was an intense journey in a very disputed competition, in which Clube Naval de Portimão, through its athletes and coaches, Frederico Rato and Gonçalo Mestre, demonstrated the good work it has done in favor of the sailing modality in the younger generations.
On the 15th of September, Clube Naval de Portimão will organize a deep-sea fishing competition and a social lunch for its members. Entries must be made until September 10th.
