The third edition of the book “When the President of the Republic Visited Monchique for Mere Curiosity”, by António Manuel de Venda, will be launched on the 15th, Sunday, at 17 pm, in Monchique, at the Longevity Wellness Resort.
Originally published at the end of 1996 by Editora Pergaminho, by Mário de Moura, and distinguished with the prize «Revelação Inasset», from the National Culture Centre, «When the President of the Republic Visited Monchique for Mera Curiosity» quickly sold out.
It was republished in 1997, and the new edition also sold out.
This third edition, which has the support of the three parish councils of the municipality of Monchique, (Monchique, Marmelete and Alferce), aims to make available to readers again the set of short stories written between 1988 and 1990 by António Manuel Venda and a few years later. well received by the specialized critics.
