45 snacks have already been served halfway through the Route

Nearly 45.000 snacks (an average of 2.700 snacks/day) have been served so far in Rota do Petisco in 70 participating establishments, which corresponds to a direct business volume of around 110.000 euros, announces the association Teia d'Impulsos, that promotes this initiative.

According to the association, “in the middle of Rota do Petisco 2013, the numbers made available surpass the best expectations. With more than two weeks to go before the end of the Route, the number of menus served already exceeds the totals of the previous edition».

Thousands have already joined the Route. And you don't even have to look at the numbers. Whoever walks through the streets of Portimão, Alvor and Ferragudo, it is difficult not to find snacks with passports in hand and a great appetite for delicacies and entertainment.

They are petiscadores of all ages, in groups or alone, who travel from establishment to establishment in search of their Route. Along the way, in a more or less spontaneous way, they come across the cultural animation that, this year, has invaded the streets, among music, poetry, workshops and wine tasting. To suit all tastes.

At this time, «Passports are starting to become scarce, a reflection of the massive adhesion to the Rota do Petisco».
Thus, according to Nuno Vieira, president of Teia d'Impulsos, «the branch inaugurated in this edition, the Rota Solidária, is also guided by success. The petiscadores did not forget the solidarity side of the event and have generously contributed to the three institutions supported by Rota do Petisco».

Poetry. Wines, theater and cocktails on the route

Those who have not yet taken this route should not waste time. You still have more than two weeks to enjoy the snacks, and beyond.

By the way, this weekend the cultural program of Rota do Petisco is promising. On Friday the invitation is to go to Ferragudo. Why? There are three reasons: traveling poetry with the Ensopado de Letras group, a wine workshop at Casa Grande and, later, another Festa da Rota.

As the night will be long, take advantage of Saturday morning to rest. It has to gain strength for a Theatrical Tour through Ferragudo, between heritage, gastronomy and dramatic expression.

On Saturday night, in Portimão, you can learn how to make your own cocktails at Clube União, in a workshop organized by Associação Barman Barlavento Algarve.

Before, at 21 pm, he is invited to choose between poetry in Alvor and music at Largo da Barca in Portimão, with the performance of Grupo Coral de Portimão at the Forte e Feio restaurant.

One last piece of advice: when you leave for Rota, don't forget to bring your camera. Between snacks, exercise your creativity, recording in images the most unforgettable moments of the Route.

Afterwards, send your best photos and participate in the Image Route. The regulations and prizes you can qualify for are listed on the website www.rotadopetisco.com, where you can find everything about Rota do Petisco 2013.
