The children from the EB1 school in Alvor will return to their classrooms, on the first day of school this 2013/2014 school year, after the repairs.

The Portimão City Council carried out the complete repair of this school building, which, last November, was damaged by the bad weather that hit Alvor.

The works included the removal, demolition and full replacement of the roof of the buildings and replacement of floors, in a contract worth around 50 euros paid by the City Council.

All cleaning and painting work was carried out and supported by the Alvor Parish Council.

«All the conditions are thus met for the school year to start within the normality of that basic school, thus allowing around one hundred and a half students to “return” to their classrooms», considers the Portimão Council in a note from press.
