The Long-Term Integrated Continued Care and Maintenance Unit at Azinhal, in the municipality of Castro Marim, will go into operation tomorrow, Thursday, and will increase the region's capacity by 30 beds. The work represented an investment of 2,4 million euros, of which 750 thousand euros were subsidized by the Modeling Program of the Ministry of Health.

By the end of this year, two more Units, built under the Modeling II Program, located in Estoi are expected to come into operation (Faro) and Aljezur, the first of which is in the phase of acquiring equipment and obtaining the necessary licenses, and the second in an advanced stage of construction.

The unit that goes into operation tomorrow, will be managed by the Association for Social Welfare of the Parish of Azinhal (ABESFA) and occupies a total gross area of ​​nearly 2 square meters spread over two floors and an area of ​​landscaping, including accesses, of 6,7 thousand square meters.
