From Monday, Tavira will host the International Festival of Theater and Arts in Rua «Cenas de Rua», an initiative that brings together artists and theater companies from various parts of the country and across the Atlantic.

From more traditional theatrical proposals to projects with a good dose of innovation, there is a lot to see until Sunday, in different places in the city.

The festival has a high moment on the first day, with the performance of the Argentine “clown” «El Niño del Retrete», which will be from 22 pm on the Praça da República.

Today, as well as on every other day of the festival, the company "Armação dos Artistas" will perform at the same venue, which will tell "Histórias na Aldeia", a performative installation that can be enjoyed between 20:30 and 21:30.

Tomorrow, the Regional Theater of Serra de Montemuro will bring the play «Que Raio de Mundo» to the Jardim do Coreto de Tavira, starting at 22 pm. On the 10th, at the same time, Teatro Ao Largo presents Molière's play “Médico à force” in the square in front of Palácio da Galeria.

On the 11th, the special guests are the actors from Teatro da Beira, who will perform the play «Farsas per musica», by Carlo Goldoni, at Jardim do Coreto, at 22 pm. The theater returns to the streets of Tavira on July 13th, with the performance of the Algarvians Ao Luar Teatro, who will present the play «Ora cantas tu, orra toco eu!'

This will be the 9th edition of the festival organized by Câmara de Tavira, which kicks off the usual summer schedule in this city. Until the 6th of September, Tavira suggests various initiatives, in which the return of Jazz to the Palácio da Galeria in July stands out, with renowned Portuguese artists attending and the 8st Mediterranean Diet Fair, between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth of September, an initiative integrated in the Candidacy of the Mediterranean Diet for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity /UNESCO, led by Tavira.
