Infarmed – National Authority for Medicines and Health Products has just published the announcement of the opening of the tender for the installation of a Pharmaceutical Post in Parchal, municipality of Lagoa.
The stage of submitting candidacies now takes place and Infarmed will be responsible for evaluating the final decision of the winner, with the Lagoa City Council waiting for «the effective installation of the service takes place as soon as possible».
The Chamber emphasizes that this improvement results from its insistence over the years. Since 2008, that autarchy had been «fighting to satisfy the desire of the population residing in Vila do Parchal to see a Pharmacy or a Pharmaceutical Post installed there».
In fact, the Câmara de Lagoa «had been insisting, together with various entities – among which the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve and Infarmed – in the opening of a public tender that would enable the installation of a Pharmacy in the Parish of Parchal».
The Regional Health Administration of the Algarve, «due to the insistence of this Autarchy, had already given a favorable opinion to this claim» and, after necessary legislative changes, Infarmed has now opened the tender.
The Municipality of Lagoa «welcomes this decision, which will provide for the existence in the town of Parchal of a pharmaceutical service of proximity and the satisfaction of the claimed needs».
