The Caixa Geral de Depósitos Music Festival is back in August for its 8th edition. Following the format adopted last year, offering unique and diversified concerts in various parts of the Algarve region, the festival has three dates this year.

On the 4th, at 19:30 pm, the Municipal Museum of Faro receives a chamber ensemble composed of string quartet and clarinet, in a free-entry concert that marks the opening of this festival.

“Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in A Major, K 581” by WA Mozart and “Quintet for Clarinet, Op. 115” by Johannes Brahms are the musical pieces that will delight the audience in this concert.

On the 9th and 10th, at Parque do Palácio da Galeria in Tavira, and at Praia do Carvoeiro, in Lagoa, respectively, both at 22 pm, Orquestra do Algarve joins Amor Electro, the most successful new band in 00, for two memorable concerts.

OA's musicians take the stage with Tiago Pais Dias (multi-instrumentalist of the band), Ricardo Vasconcelos (keys) and Rui Rechena (bass), and roll out the red carpet for what, according to some “opinion-makers”, is a of the most prestigious and considered interpreters of the new generation: Marisa Liz.

Amor Electro, a band distinguished with 2 Golden Globes (Best Band and Best Music, with “A Máquina”) and participant in some of the most important national festivals, present a repertoire of songs that are part of the Portuguese music scene, where they are reflected. its influences from international bands but with its own identity, sung in the language of Camões, with an “electrifying” sound and at the same time Portuguese.

In Tavira, the event will have a paid entry fee, with a ticket costing 10 euros, of which 5 euros will be donated to charity institutions. At Praia do Carvoeiro, entry is free.

The Caixa Geral de Depósitos Festival is co-produced by Orquestra do Algarve and the bank that gives its name to this event, and is also supported by the local authorities of Faro, Tavira and Lagoa.
